Grants of up to $75,000 and in-kind grants valued at up to $75,000 to USA nonprofit organizations for diverse projects that use technology to address the world's most critical challenges. The purpose of this program is to provide support for nonprofits that are working toward technology-driven goals and to empower nonprofits to prioritize the utilization of technology as a mission-critical component of their projects. Consideration will be given for proposals for strategic technology planning, proofs of concept, pilot projects, or existing programs that utilize technology in a new or expanded way.

AWS will judge proposals based on factors that include:
-Innovative and unique nature of the project;
-Impact on mission-critical goals;
-Clearly defined outcomes;
-Succinctly defined milestones;
-Detailing and applicability of AWS services within the project scope;
-Viability of proposed sustainability plan;
-Comprehensiveness of applicant’s proposal and information requested;
-Submission of proposal in correct six-pager format and within the deadline.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Organizations selected for the 2018 AWS Imagine Grant may receive the following sources:
-Up to $75,000 USD of unrestricted financial support;
-Up to $75,000 USD in AWS Promotional Credits;
-A full-day project kickoff with AWS technical specialist(s);
-Up to 5 AWS Training Services Vouchers;
-An opportunity for AWS marketing support.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit organizations with 501(c) status and located in the U.S. are eligible to apply. Organizations with annual operating budgets of any size are eligible to apply for this program.

-Adjudication: November 1 – 10, 2018
-Notification of Awards: November 12 – 16, 2018
-Announcement of Winners: November 26 – 30, 2018

-Impact Story Development: On or around December 2019
