Grants to USA nonprofit organizations, public school districts, and elementary and secondary schools for programs to support PreK-12 STEM education. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended for programs that inspire and encourage Pre-K-12 students to pursue their interest and curiosity in STEM.

The STEM Grant Selection Committee is looking to fund programs or projects that offer students:

  • An innovative (i.e. unique) approach to learning STEM
  • Developmentally-appropriate STEM curriculum and/or resources
  • Activities that support real-life application of STEM knowledge

Funds awarded through the grant may be used in the following ways:

  • Tools/Equipment
  • Stipends for Staff
  • Field trips
  • Travel expenses (e.g. buses)
  • Curriculum Development and/or Purchase
  • Professional Development

Number of Grants:

5 grants will be chosen and awarded by 5 different Colocation America Staff Members. In addition, the STEM Grant Committee will award 4-10 grants

Estimated Size of Grant:

- Grants chosen and awarded by Colocation America Staff Members: $1,500
- Grants awarded by the STEM Grant Committee: $2,000 - $7,500 per a project

Term of Contract:

Funds must be utilized no later than September 1, 2023.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible Organizations/Schools:
- Nonprofit Charitable Organizations classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity by the Internal Revenue Service.
- Public School Districts, Private/Public Elementary, and/or Secondary Schools with STEM-specific programming.

The following are not supported by this grant:
- Meals/Refreshments
- Conference Fees

Pre-Application Information:

- Letter of Intent Deadline: May 13, 2022
- STEM Grant Finalist Selected: Ongoing basis until May 22, 2022
- "Lunch & Learn" Mandatory Call: 1 Hour (May 24, May 26, June 1, or June 3 – varies times)
- STEM Grant Finalist Application Deadline for Finalist: July 8, 2022
- Awardees Announced by August 5th, 2022 with funds received in by August 26, 2022

After being selected as a Finalist, an organization representative must attend the "Lunch & Learn" Mandatory Call on the date/time selected in the Letter of Intent form. If an organization must change the date, they must notify Colocation America by email.

One organization can be awarded through the Staff Members and the STEM Grant Committee.
