Grants to USA, Canada, and International high school journalism teachers to subsidize the cost of attending teacher workshops at an American university. Priority funding is given to unlicensed teachers and advisers and to those with little or no journalism teaching and advising experience. Grant recipients are expected to return to journalism teaching in the fall.
The IU Media School plans to award several grants for high school teachers. These grants can be applied toward the cost of attending a teacher workshop this summer on the Indiana University-Bloomington campus. Funds may be used for any HSJI graduate credit workshop, including J804 Independent Study for Journalism Educators.
Grants also are available for high school journalism/media teachers and advisers who enroll in the university's summer practicum, a customized professional development opportunity that meets during the student workshops in July.

The IU Media School plans to award several grants for high school teachers.
Grant amounts will be relative to the number of graduate credit hours taken. For example, those taking three credits may apply for a $900 grant and those taking two credits may apply for a $600 grant. Funds are applied to the tuition bill of workshop participants.
Teachers who receive a grant and successfully complete the summer practicum will be reimbursed $350 for those who chose to stay in on-campus housing and $250 for commuters.
